Our Troupe
Farnworth Aces was established in March of 1995 by Sandra Smith and some other parents.
We started of dancing for GMMDA in our green and white dresses (probably the nicest dresses we've ever had!!!). Even though we had a new name, new dresses, new trainer everyone still classed us as newbury ettes (the troupe we used to be). It took us a good couple of years and 2 different associations to shake that reputation. By this time Sandra was classed as trainer.... we couldn't have done it without her, she takes alot of crap off us !!!!!
We have danced with TMDA for the past few years and we have to say it is one of the best. It's a very friendly association especially at the championships (probably because everyone is normally drunk!!!). We have done quite a few hilarious fancy dress themes which usually involve men dressed as women or people swapping clothes (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!).
but it was time to move on............
We are now dancing with NDTO and so far the season is going well, lets just see what the champs bring !!!!!!
Well as you can see we are a bubbly, down 2 earth troupe, who know that morris dancing is a hobby not a career and you should still be able to have fun aswell as wanting to win!!!!!!!!
And to those of you who said "They won't last 6 months" we would like to say to you "ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, look at us now!!!!!"
